Reiki 1 Class

Reiki emphasizes using universal life force energy to unlock inner healing mechanisms. This 10 hour course helps students gain intuitive skills in listening to the body voice and experience and comfort in running energy. Students receive a formal attunement, which, in Reiki, is considered a prerequisite to being able to do this work effectively.

Susan also covers twelve basic hand positions, the five Reiki principles, and Reiki meditation and breath-work. On completion of the class, students will be certified at the Reiki 1 level. They will be able to take further Reiki coursework, and will be able to perform self-healing work on themselves, as well as begin to be able to help their friends and family. Please note that Reiki requires touching others and being touched.

Body Voice Class

For many people, simply being told to follow their body wisdom can be a frustrating and distressing experience. “How Do I do that?” “What does it feel like?” In our society, we are rarely taught how to access that information and how to use it to manifest our most heartfelt desires. This is exactly what you DO learn in Heart of the Tree’s Body Voice class.

Body Voice is a movement and personal exploration based class designed to help you learn to hear your own internal truth. We use a wide variety of techniques including dance therapy, drama and voice exercises, Somato-Emotional Release* and animal behavior. We help you explore your own internal landscape from your past history to your future hopes and dreams.

You will learn how your body tracks the gut feelings of fear and desire and other vital emotions. Even more importantly, you will begin to understand how to use this internal tracking as a tool to find out what you most need to know about yourself and your situation. You will also learn how your bodies own energy or “chi” can be blocked in particular areas and what it feels like to have your energy flowing freely throughout your body.

*Somato-Emotional Release is a light touch therapeutic process that helps rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma and negative experiences.

Put Insomnia to Rest

Learn how to use the Repeated Still-Point** technique to help fight insomnia. This exceedingly gentle, safe technique is remarkably effective in calming the body and helping it easily enter the first stage of sleep. It is also a great resource to let go of stress during the day, so that it is easier to fall asleep in the first place.

Students in this class will also learn how to apply this technique to others. This way, you can help your children sleep or help someone who’s not feeling well to get much needed rest. We also help you develop a personalized plan to improve sleep for the whole family based on your unique situation and family requirements.

**According to John Upledger, A Still-Point occurs when the cerebrospinal fluid gently and naturally comes to a rest. It can occur spontaneously or be induced. The delicate interruption of fluid flow causes a momentary buildup of fluid in the system. When the tissues are subsequently released and the fluid begins to flow again, it gently “flushes” the system.
