Susan Hirshberg is a Reiki Master and Craniosacral Therapy practitioner who also holds a Master’s degree in Animal Behavior. Susan
spent over a decade in the nonprofit world doing research and education on a series of public interest projects before retraining to become an alternative health practitioner. In her practice, Susan focuses on Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, and her own modality, WiseHeart Therapy. Her gentle, effective treatments work with the body’s own innate internal healing capacities to ease a wide variety of issues including pain, chronic illness, trauma, depression, insomnia, headaches, TMJ, learning disabilities, and generalized discomfort.
Susan also provides specialized treatments for children and the elderly; taking time to really listen to the client and making sure to personalize the treatments to match the client’s comfort level at all times. Sessions with children involve lots of toys and kids can move about or be engaged in activities that they bring from home. Elderly clients, and indeed all clients, are treated with warmth and respect for both their body and their intelligence, and encouraged to find whatever positions are most comfortable during treatment. As is standard for Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy, clients are not requested to disrobe for treatment.
Susan’s scientific and non-profit training are of particular use for the education and research nonprofit which she founded with her collegue Janice Webber: the Atlantic Craniosacral Therapy Society. Her skills in data analysis, research design, communications, outreach and administration and her commitment to integrity, scientific rigor and social responsibility bring a unique perspective to her work, both on the client and organizational level.
